Personalize a Birthday Card with a Surprise Banner Inside

My Father recently had a Western-themed birthday party. I figured that I therefore needed to make a Western-themed birthday card!

And here it is:

I used painted and stamped scrapbook paper to create the boot and text.

Here’s what the paper looked like before I cut it up:

I think the painted paper gives, what could be a very basic card, an artistic lift! It also makes the whole thing much more “Julie.”

One of the things that I love about my ScanNCut is that there are so many ways to make my projects personal rather than “standard.”

For the inside of the card, I created a banner:

I love the way the loose letters look in the card. It’s a little bit difficult to capture in photos, but it’s a super cool effect in person!

Most importantly, I had a great time celebrating my Dad’s birthday with him!
