Pay It Forward Mini Quilt
I was inspired by a tiny little stack of seven fabrics a quilty friend gave me a few weeks ago from her stash just because they reminded her of me. That is pretty sweet. Quilty friends are awesome. I thought I would showcase them with some simple white fabric and make a mini for another quilty friend who will be on bed rest for a few months, thinking it might brighten her space. So I decided to call this mini “Pay It Forward”. Let’s get on with it. Finished Size: 21" x 21"

- Quilting Frame: THE Dream Fabric Frame(Opens in a new tab)
- (7) of your favorite fabrics cut into 3.5” squares
- ¾ yard of white background fabric
- Binding fabric
- Batting
- Fabric for your Mini Quilt Back

Step One
Cutting your background fabric & fabric lay out. Each row has a 3.5” x 3.5” colored square. Cut 7 of them, each a different color. STEP TWO
Sew all the rows together. I like to square up my mini at this point. [caption id="attachment_3299" align="aligncenter" width="800"]
STEP THREE
Layer top / batting / quilt back and load it onto THE Dream Fabric Frame(Opens in a new tab)
Step FOUR
Quilt as desired. I used a variegated grey thread and decided on some simple loops. If you are new to free motion quilting on the frame this is a perfect choice. Loops mimic your handwriting. It's also easy to get into a rhythm with making loops.
STEP FIVE
Once finished quilting, remove the quilt from the THE Dream Fabric Frame and square the quilt up.
STEP SIX
Choose your favorite method of applying your binding(Opens in a new tab)and enjoy your mini.
