Janice Ferguson

Janice Ferguson earned her undergraduate degree in English from Northern Illinois and master’s degree in special education from Stetson University. After a few years of teaching, she became a stay-at-home mom, raising her children, focusing on needlework, tending a vegetable garden, a back yard citrus grove, a flock of poultry, a rascally horse and milk goats. But except for her love of her children, her passion for needlework overrode those other interests.
She creates unique needlework projects with an emphasis on high-quality fibers, relying on her strong educational background in heirloom sewing techniques.
A featured author who has written extensively for such publications as Sew Beautiful and Creative Needle, her creations have been featured on a variety of television shows including PBS’ Martha’s Sewing Room. Additionally, she has designed exclusively for publications such as Vogue Pattern Magazine, Quilt World, and Round Bobbin.
Janice has taught machine embroidery, heirloom sewing, quilting and English smocking around the United States, Puerto Rico and Australia. A Brother fan for 25 years, the capabilities of THE Dream Machine inspire her. She enjoys creating high-quality clothing and home décor for her family.
