There are many ways that you can store your patterns. If you are like me, you have TONS of them and then printed them in many sizes. I used to use paper clips and just pile them up but the more you have the more of a pain that gets to be, so here is what I started to do.
File folders and wall file hangers! Both can easily be found online, or in a local office supply store. Take a look at my storage now.
Each pattern has its own hanging file section, in each hanging file I have the pattern in envelopes separated by size.
Quick and easy and frees up space on your floor or shelves! Print your pattern, label your envelope with the pattern and size, then just fold your pieces so they will fit into the folder. I also keep mine in order from smallest size to biggest, so I can find them quicker in the stack.
I like to label the outside of the folder with info for that pattern as well. I will add neckband or cuff measurements, notes like… “works better with a longer neckband” “use ½” hem with this sleeve” or whatever you may need to add so that you don’t have to search for it in the instructions each time.
Having my patterns on the wall has really helped me stay organized and keeps me from searching in a pile for the pattern and size I need!
