EPEAT

EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) is an environmental rating and ecolabel that helps purchasers in the public and private sectors evaluate, compare, and select imaging equipment based on its environmental attributes. EPEAT registered imaging products must meet an extensive list of environmental based criteria covered in the IEEE 1680.2 Standards for Environmental Assessment of Imaging Equipment.

Brother provides end-of-life characterization reports upon request to reuse and recycling facilities for the effective processing of materials identified in EU WEEE Directive 2002/96/EC, Annex II. Early Failure Process 4.4.1.1

Spare Parts 4.4.3.1

Spare parts for Brother printers, scanners, and multi-function devices are available for seven (7) years alter product production ceases. Contact your sales representative or Brother Customer Support at 1(877) 276-8437.

Product take-back and end-of-life processing requirements 4.6.1.1, 4.6.1.2, 4.6.2.1

Brother is committed to reducing landfill waste by reusing parts, recycling materials, and conserving energy. All devices collected through Brother’s take-back programs at the end-of-life are sent to our certified recyclers with nothing going to landfill. Non-fiber-based packaging take-back 4.8.4.1

Brother is pleased to offer take-back services of non-fiber-based packaging for all Brother products to institutional purchasers. We strongly encourage recycling of plastic packaging locally to eliminate additional greenhouse gas emissions associated with transportation to our recycling facility. Use of recycled and chlorine-free paper 4.9.1.1

Brother printers and multi-function devices are designed to work with paper made with renewable, recycled and chlorine-free content. Using paper made with these contents will not void the Brother warranty.

Non-OEM consumables 4.9.2.1

Brother printers and multi-function devices are not designed to prevent the use of non-Brother cartridges and non-Brother containers. However, while Brother devices are flexible in the cartridges and containers they accept, Brother genuine cartridges, containers and supplies are strongly recommended for optimal performance, quality, and reliability.

Take-back and end-of-life management for cartridges 4.9.2.1

Brother is committed to reducing landfill waste by reusing parts, recycling materials, and conserving energy. All supplies collected through Brother’s ink & toner take-back program at the end-of-life are reused or recycled with nothing going to landfill.
